I see teaching as a means for coaching, I see coaching as the best technique, and I see this best method to create a mutual and healthy environment.
I believe that it is my responsibility as a lecturer to provide students with the following:
- an environment helpful for learning, through students’ center approach
- competencies that will help them be successful in achieving their lives' goals, through national and international case studies, hosting experts and scientific excursions
- up to date materials, opportunities, and feedback that will help them learn, through self and formative assessment.
- And helping in becoming and remaining motivated to be successful both in their studies and in applying their knowledge to solve problems in their lives.
I also believe that my students have duties to me, to their classmates, family, and society. Thus, I believe that it is the students' responsibility to be supportive to me and fellow students by being:
- being punctual
- tolerant of different points of view,
- prepared for class,
- willing to work hard to complete course activities,
- willing to bring their life experiences into the class to enrich discussions,
- willing to try to apply what they learn in class to solve the problems they face on their jobs and in their lives.
Lastly, I don’t want my students to forget and remember, but to learn for life.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn” (Benjamin Franklin)
